We picked up our Minnesota friends Jim and Gail for our bus trip at 7 am to Sedona and Jerome. Ralph and I overslept until 6:25 am. Woh,what a rush! The tour bus stopped once at Macdonalds for breakfast.Thank goodness! It was a 3.5 hour drive to Sedona--a beautiful picturesque town in the Red Rock Canyon. The 4 of us went on two trolley tours--one around Sedona and the Chapel of the Holy Cross built into the red rock and the other to Boynton Canyon. The red rock formations are breathtaking.Lots of picture taking.
At 2pm the bus tour went to Jerome (ghost town now). It is an old copper mining town built high on the side of a mountain. It is suppose to be the most vertical town in America. We had a nice lunch there. It was a long day but enjoyable. We arrived back at 8:30 pm. We stopped to visit Gary and Karen Howell after we got back. They are staying at Golden Sun for 5 days.

We went to the Mesa Market with the Howells. We had lunch and managed to do some shopping. We stopped by Filly's Bar--music and dancing outside among the Saquaro cactus and horses hitched to the posts.Quite unique!! In the evening we went to the resort's spaghetti dinner (delicious).
We visited Bob and Marilyn Odermatt at Merdian RV Resort. They just arrived from Saskatchewan.

We picked up the Howells and Odermatts and drove to Cosanti (wind bells) in Scottsdale.
I love these beautiful bells. We had a late lunch at Filly's while enjoying the music on a cloudy day. Ralph went to the hot tub with Gary and the Odermatts while I down loaded photos.

Wind and rain during the night. The Odermatts picked the Howells and us up and drove out to Canyon Lake and Tortilla Flats in the Superstition Mountains. We listened to the band and had a hamburger. In the evening we enjoyed listening to karaoke singers at the Mirage Sports Bar.
Our neighbours Merv and Elaine sang.

Bruce Overmann and friend Jack Roebuck (Champion AB) drove up from Bouse (2 hours away)
and visited in the afternoon. Bruce was picking Linda up at the airport in the evening.
The Odermatts picked the Howells and us up to go to Barleen's Arizona Opry dinner show.
The chicken dinner and show were excellent. Very talented musicans.

The Howells left for Tucson for 2 weeks. Ralph and I went in the resort's van at 9am to go to
Barrett Jackson auto show and auction in Scottsdale. Arvid and Glenda met us. They parked their motorhome there during the week of the auction. Arvid restores pedal cars, automobile signs etc. He brought 9 pedal cars from Minnesota and has them auctioned off.
It was an exciting full day of seeing one of the largest automobile auctions in the world in person.
Big crowds, lots of vendors and of course thousands of cars such as John F. Kennedy's hearse,Yellow Submarine and one of a kind speciality cars. We got back at 6:30 very tired.

Ralph and I spent several hours shelling fresh pecans and a couple of hours squeezing oranges into juice. About 25 people went picking fruit today. It was a warm 70 Deg.F. afternoon. In the evening we went dancing at the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) with our golf friends. Good music.
