Apache Junction, Arizona Jan. 2nd to 9th, 2012

Jan. 2nd

8 Deg.C our friend and neighbour Rob drove us to the Calgary Airport for our 10:30 am flight back to Phoenix. The Calgary Airport was a zoo. Our friends Merv and Elaine were at the Phoenix Airport to drive us back to Golden Sun Rv Resort. 78 Deg. F. We went out for pizza and wings for supper.


Jan3rd

Another warm day with the temperature in the high 70's F. Our grocery order was a big one.
Jim and Gail (Minnesota) invited us over for happy hour in the afternoon. We phoned and got tickets for the Dutton's Country Music Show from Branson,Missouri and Barleen's Arizona Opry Dinner Show. I went to bingo with Elaine. I was one number away a couple of times.


Jan. 4th

Ralph played shuffleboard while I made beef stew. We picked Merv and Elaine up at noon to go golfing at Superstition Sun Golf Club--9 holes with electric cart $45.00. Enjoyable and a lovely day. Some of the golf group invited us back to their resort for happy hour. Afterwards we went to the Hitching Post Bar for wings,beer and music.


Jan.5th

Our other Minnesota friends Arvid and Glenda stopped by for a visit. We went to the pool area to listen to Karoake from 3 to 5 pm (organized by Merv and Elaine). It was a hit with a big crowd and a lot of good singers. We played Pegs and Jokers with Arvid & Glenda until 11pm.


Jan. 6th

We played shuffleboard until 11:30am. We went to Walmart and enjoyed 80 Deg F temperatures in the afternoon. There were lots of people at the dance in the Resort Ballroom 7-10pm.


Jan. 7th

We went to the Resort's pancake breakfast in the morning. Ralph went for a swim while I read and had a nap. We went over to Arvid and Glenda's to play cards again. The girls are up by one game now.


Jan. 8th

Cooler 66 Deg. F . We went to the Mesa Market for about 4 hours. We shopped and had lunch.


Jan. 9th

Lots of people were at the shuffleboard today. Ralph got a hair cut $10.00 while I bought groceries at Safeway. We went to the Resort's pot luck supper at 5pm. Arvid and Glenda came over to our place at 7:30 to play Pegs and Jokers.
