Jan. 21st
We golfed with Bob and Marilyn Odermatt (SK) 11:am at Sunland Springs Golf Course--9 hole 33 par with electric cart $24.00 per couple. The Odermatts had a half price coupon. Afterwards we went to Apacheland days,beer at Skies Bar & Grill and all you could eat fish and chips at Dirtwater Springs Restaurant. A fun day!!!
Jan. 22nd
Cloudy and cooler today 63 deg F. We went to the Olde Country Buffet with two other couples for supper. At 6 pm we all went to the Legends of Country Music Show. Very good.
Jan. 23rd
Ralph went to shuffleboard while I did some cleaning. After lunch I had my hair cut and colored,a pedicure and a nail fill. Ralph got a hair cut. I did three loads of laundry afterwards.
We picked the Odermatts up for a late supper. Busy day !!!
Jan. 24th
We drove Merv and Elaine to the Phoenix airport at 6 am. They are going to Puerto Vallarta,Mexico for two weeks. We went out with a group from the resort to Peter Piper Pizza for lunch. Supper at home for a change.In the evening we played cards with Arvid and Glenda.
Jan. 25th
We played shuffleboard in the morning,golfed at Apache Sun in the afternoon and went to the Potato Bake (with chili and the works) at the resort for supper.
Jan 26 th
Beautiful sunny day 72 Deg. F. After cleaning in the morning we went to the swimming pool after lunch. We had wings and fries at the Hitching Post Bar and Grill (entertainment as well). We played Pegs and Jokers with Arvid and Glenda.
Jan. 27 th
Shuffleboard this morning. We had our 4 Minnesota friends over for happy hour on a cloudy and cooler afternoon. The Odermatts invited us over to Meridan RV Resort for pizza. We met their son and family who are visiting from Saskatchewan and daughter and grandson from Boston . Very nice villa that their kids are staying in at the resort.
Jan. 28th
Windy and warm 72 deg. F. We did some grocery shopping and relaxed in the sun. The hot turkey sandwich supper in the resort ballroom was very tasty. We played our last game of cards with Arvid and Glenda until we meet again (boys up 5 games).
Jan. 29th
Warm day again. I did some laundry while Ralph packed up everything outside. We talked to Sid and Carol on Skype (leaving for Israel soon). We went out for Chinese food with our Minnesota friends. We said our goodbyes.
Jan. 30th
We left Golden Sun at 9:30 for Yuma. After driving 4 hours we arrived at The Palms in Yuma.
We drove through Quartzsite and saw lots of RVer's boondocking. After setting up in site 310
we went to the activities office and bought tickets for 3 different shows( Mel Tillis on Feb.24th)
We are booked at this beautiful resort until Feb. 9th but we hope to stay until the end of February.78 Deg. F. sunny today in Yuma. We went for a walk around the resort this evening. We like our large site.

Arizona January 10th--20th
Jan. 10th
We had our photos taken for the Golden Sun's Directory. We did the blog and uploaded pictures. Nice day 70 Deg. F I went to bingo. No luck !!
Jan. 11th
We played shuffleboard in the morning. At noon we went golfing at Apache Sun Golf Course with a group of friends. Gary and Dorrien (Saskatchewan) invited us back to their resort for happy hour. After supper we went to Arvid and Glenda's to play pegs and jokers cards. The girls are up by two games now.
Jan.12th
Cloudy and cooler today. Good day to do laundry. Ralph picked up some groceries. In the evening we went ot see the Dutton's---a family variety show out of Branson, Missouri.
Very good!! We met Al, a friend of Bruce and Ralph's from Sylvan Lake.
Jan. 13th
We picked up our Minnesota friends Jim and Gail for our bus trip at 7 am to Sedona and Jerome. Ralph and I overslept until 6:25 am. Woh,what a rush! The tour bus stopped once at Macdonalds for breakfast.Thank goodness! It was a 3.5 hour drive to Sedona--a beautiful picturesque town in the Red Rock Canyon. The 4 of us went on two trolley tours--one around Sedona and the Chapel of the Holy Cross built into the red rock and the other to Boynton Canyon. The red rock formations are breathtaking.Lots of picture taking.
At 2pm the bus tour went to Jerome (ghost town now). It is an old copper mining town built high on the side of a mountain. It is suppose to be the most vertical town in America. We had a nice lunch there.It was a long day but enjoyable. We arrived back at 8:30 pm. We stopped to visit Gary and Karen Howell after we got back. They are staying at Golden Sun for 5 days.
Jan. 14th
We went to the Mesa Market with the Howells. We had lunch and managed to do some shopping. We stopped by Filly's Bar--music and dancing outside among the Saquaro cactus and horses hitched to the posts.Quite unique!! In the evening we went to the resort's spaghetti dinner (delicious).
We visited Bob and Marilyn Odermatt at Merdian RV Resort. They just arrived from Saskatchewan.
Jan. 15th
We picked up the Howells and Odermatts and drove to Cosanti (wind bells) in Scottsdale.
I love these beautiful bells. We had a late lunch at Filly's while enjoying the music on a cloudy day. Ralph went to the hot tub with Gary and the Odermatts while I down loaded photos.
Jan.16th
Wind and rain during the night. The Odermatts picked the Howells and us up and drove out to Canyon Lake and Tortilla Flats in the Superstition Mountains. We listened to the band and had a hamburger. In the evening we enjoyed listening to karaoke singers at the Mirage Sports Bar.
Our neighbours Merv and Elaine sang.
Jan.17th
Bruce Overmann and friend Jack Roebuck (Champion AB) drove up from Bouse (2 hours away)
and visited in the afternoon. Bruce was picking Linda up at the airport in the evening.
The Odermatts picked the Howells and us up to go to Barleen's Arizona Opry dinner show.
The chicken dinner and show were excellent. Very talented musicans.
Jan. 18th
The Howells left for Tucson for 2 weeks. Ralph and I went in the resort's van at 9am to go to
Barrett Jackson auto show and auction in Scottsdale. Arvid and Glenda met us. They parked their motorhome there during the week of the auction. Arvid restores pedal cars, automobile signs etc. He brought 9 pedal cars from Minnesota and has them auctioned off.
It was an exciting full day of seeing one of the largest automobile auctions in the world in person.
Big crowds,lots of vendors and of course thousands of cars such as John F. Kennedy's hearse,Yellow Submarine and one of a kind speciality cars. We got back at 6:30 very tired.
Jan.19th
Ralph and I spent several hours shelling fresh pecans and a couple of hours squeezing oranges into juice. About 25 people went picking fruit today. It was a warm 70 Deg.F. afternoon. In the evening we went dancing at the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) with our golf friends. Good music.
Jan.20th
We played shuffleboard in the morinng. We met up with the Odermatts at the Mesa Market.
We went for a late pizza lunch. 72 Deg.F. Ralph went grocery shopping as I was feeling weary. We have been very busy lately. After a rest we did the blog.
