Southern California Nov. 22-Dec. 5th
Ralph and I are settling in at Golden Village Palms RV Resort and meeting new people.
Our street Ilex has mostly people from British Columbia on it. We often go to different RV
sites about 3:30 pm for happy hour before supper. Very friendly people. The weather has been warm and sunny between 75-80 Deg. F (25-30 Deg. C.) but the last 3-4 days a cooler front has moved in 60-65 Deg. F (15-18 Deg. C.) dipping down to 40 Deg. F at night. The L.A. and
Pasadena areas 1.5 hours drive away have been hit with high winds and alot of damage.
After lunch we usually go for a swim. Friday evenings we play shuffleboard for a $1.00.
We have been lucky winning breakfast tickets and some money back.
Nov. 24-25th
A potluck dinner in the GVP ballroom was well attended with over 200 people for the American Thanksgiving. The resort supplied the turkeys. We sat with Ron and Marlene Annala. Yummy food and a good time. Black Friday on the 25 th had lots of bargains to be had but I did not want to be over-run or pepper sprayed by the thousands of people out shopping.
Nov.26th
We drove over to the College of the Desert Street Fair in Palm Desert (1hr.15min away).
Hot 92 Deg. F. Lots of venders and people. I managed to buy a few things.
Nov.27th.
We picked up the Annala's for breakfast at IHOP. We went over to the Grey Cup party at 3 pm.
Between 60-70 people watched the game on the big screen. B.C. winning over Winnipeg.
It was fun with lots to eat.
Nov.28th.
Marlene and I played rummy in the afternoon with some other ladies. Ralph bought a new tube for my bicycle and fixed my flat tire. The Annala's came over to our place to play cards
"Oh Hell" at 7 pm. We had a great time till almost 1 am.
